Box Office Prediction for December 25-28

Christmas is upon us and shoppers are running franticly to get presents. I officially finished my Christmas shopping today. One tradition that many people have is to go see a new movie in theaters. Since there are 5 movies coming out on Christmas they have a lot of choices.

"Bedtime Stories"
"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"
"Marley and Me"
"The Spirit"
"Valkyrie"

The first movie that excites me is Bedtime Stories. It's about a man who's bedtime stories to his niece and nephew become real.

The second movie that excites me is Valkyrie. This movie follows Claus von Stauffenberg and his attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler.

There are three movies coming out in limited release.

"Revolutionary Road'
"Last Chance Harvey"
"Waltz with Bashir"

Boy In Striped Pajama's Update: I have still yet to see this film. I have heard many great things about it already. I will let you know how it is when I do see it. Last weekend it made 274,000 dollars in 403 theaters. It has made a total of 8.3 Million dollars.

The Boy In the Striped Pajama's Update: BISP made 1 million dollars this last weekend putting it at a total of 6.6 million dollars. The movie is playing in 678 theaters this week.


Fireproof Update: Fireproof made 250,000 dollars last weekend in 499 theaters. After 11 weeks in theaters it has made a total of 32.6 million dollars.




I am excited to tell you that they have released a new trailer for Terminator Salvation. (a.k.a Terminator 4) From what I can tell it looks really really cool. Enjoy.

What's Going Down?

Did you know that the domestic Box Office in 2007 alone was 9.62 billion dollars? Did you know that all the movies with explicit sexuality in 2007 made over 2 billion dollars? Did you know that all the pro satanism movies in 2007 made over 500 million dollars? Did you know that over 5 billion dollars went to explicit pagan movies?

Even though this looks discouraging we need to look at the bigger picture. Did you know that good Christian movies increased 15% from 2006 to 2007? Forty years ago you would have never seen a movie like Fireproof in theaters. The revolution has started and we need to stand up and fight for God glorifying movies. As Christians we need to take dominion over EVERY area of life.
Isaiah 11:9 “ They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD As the waters cover the sea.”

Fireproof update: Fireproof slid down to 486 theaters this last weekend. It made 431,000 dollars this weekend. That would mean Fireproof made a total of 32.3 million dollars.


The Boy in the Striped Pajamas update: BISP (Boy in the Striped Pajamas) made 1.6 Million dollars this weekend. It has also made a total of 5.1 Million dollars.



Now for the movie trailer of the week. I loved the first Ice Age, I did not like the second. So I will give them a chance to impress me on the third. (It does look funny)
